My very first blog🔗

Today's group project opportunity in the Blaugust event is the following writing prompt:

I started my very first blog on 7 December 2005, more than 20 years ago. I was a university student back then, full of optimism and energy. I started blogging just days before my very first book was published. Yes, I wrote two books, maybe three. I'll post about them later. Promise.

I mostly posted about writing, university life, and random thoughts. As I was one of the first students to take notes with a laptop, I also shared my university notes there. (I wrote about that in a bit more detail here.) Those downloads generated most of the traffic.

I also wrote about books, movies, anime, manga, video games, and more.

It was a Blogger-based blog, back when Google wasn't as evil as it is now. I also tried Microsoft Live Writer, which was pretty decent compared to Blogger's own bare-bones editor.

My last post on the blog was published on 28 June 2009. During those three and a half years, I wrote 704 posts. That's almost one post every two days.

Overall, it wasn't a bad blog, but looking back with the perspective I have today, I'd be much less inclined to act like I had all the answers on many topics. I'd be more restrained in expressing my opinions. That's why I made the blog private years ago. I archived it, and it will soon be deleted together with my Google Account.
